Our Roots

WOW Logistics started out as Wards of Wednesbury in 1965, in the bedroom of Mr Wilfred (Bill) Ward’s home, hauling coal before finally expanding into General Haulage. In the early seventies, Bill was joined by his sons Terry and Peter. With the additional support, they expanded into logistics and warehousing solutions and the company went from strength to strength. At the heart of Wards of Wednesbury pride in their community and family values always prevailed.

A New Chapter

In February 2021, Rachel Middleton acquired the company.

With her background in driver recruitment, having set up her very own successful recruitment agency and her knowledge within the transport industry, Rachel is always looking to widen the range of services WOW Logistics can provide.

To redefine the logistics industry by daring to be different and taking logistics services to a completely new level, whilst still maintaining our solid roots and reputation, built by many years of hard work.

Meet Our Team & WAFFLE

Hollie Middleton

Transport Manager

Hollie has been in the transport and logistics sector since a very early age, starting in driver recruitment then moving into transport for WOW Logistics and gaining her Transport Management CPC. Her priority is to ensure our customer requirements are met by offering a high quality and reliable service door to door. She regularly liaise’s with the warehouse to co-ordinate deliveries and is also responsible for truck maintenance and the all important compliance.

Likes to move quickly so often uses her skateboard to navigate around the warehouse to liaise with her team members.

Rachel Middleton

Managing Director

Having worked in the logistics industry for over 20 years, she prides herself on building long standing business relationships with clients and suppliers by offering an exceptional service. She believes in creating a fun and friendly working environment, maintaining strong family values and teamwork is key.

Rachel has a passion for the environment and dreams of having her own recycling plant. She is a secret trucker nerd!

Stacey Reynolds

Finance Director

The pinnacle of the accounts and HR Department, Stacey oversees and manages the smooth running of the operations for WOW Logistics and its sister company Topgear Recruitment Solutions. For any accounting requirements or queries regarding the business, Stacey is always on hand to ensure things are dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Likes an extra power boost in the morning and can often be found running at 5am.

Meet our Helpful Warehouse Team

Dave Wildman

With over 22 years’ experience in warehousing, most of it working for WOW Logistics, Dave loves what he does and is always ready to handle our client’s goods with care. He understands the technicalities of various load and weight types and ensures the right equipment is used for each job and that the goods are checked, stored, and secured safely.

Likes his homebrew and looking after our resident foxes and badgers.

Lee Davis

Lee started his career at WOW Logistics as a HGV1 driver 8 years ago, providing a reliable service to our clients covering both local and national deliveries and collections. He has now taken on an in-house role supporting both the transport and warehouse side of the business, planning of vehicles, liaising with clients and drivers, and facilitating any collections and deliveries in/out of the warehouse. If you need any local deliveries or storage assistance, Lee is your man.

Lee can be a bit of a comedian and can turn anything funny, he likes to laugh and believes this is what keeps him looking and feeling so young.

Darran WOOD

Darran has worked for WOW Logistics for over 22 years. He is fully qualified as a 7.5T, HGV2 and FLT Driver. Darran is the man you need to collect and deliver your goods and keep our warehouse in tip-top condition. When not on the road he helps our warehouse team picking, packing and organising stock.

Darran’s survival skills are exceptional, he regularly takes part in outdoor adventures and can make sure the campfire is lit, he is partial to a little dancing too!

Monica

Administrator

Monica has been a key part of the administration team for both WOW Logistics and its sister company Topgear Recruitment Solutions for 15 years. Ensuring the smooth running of the back office systems and processes she liaises with clients, drivers and other team members.

Her specialty is making unique gifts for our clients and staff. You might have been lucky enough to receive a knitted chicken, daffodil or bunny.

WAFFLE

The Office Shredder

Started her career as the office shredder and is always on hand to offer a warm welcome to our visitors and staff. Waffle is a key member at WOW Logistics and its sister company Topgear Recruitment Solutions and likes helping the drivers with their early morning vehicle checks or working alongside our amazing warehouse team.

Has been trained as a support dog and loves helping at work and home, as a cockapoo she does not shed fur.

Meet our helpful driving team

Adrian

Ade is an experienced HGV2 Driver and has dedicated over 5 years of service to WOW Logistics, maintaining a fast and reliable service to our clients daily. Ade has experience in specialist loads and holds his FLT Licence so often assists our warehouse team or client’s should this be a requirement. Ade always goes the extra mile.

Likes his collection of model trains and has a passion for antiques.

John

Has been a key part of WOW Logistics and its sister company Topgear Recruitment Solutions as a HGV1 Driver for over 7 years, John holds FLT/ IPAF/ADR licences and often assists with our specialist loads as well as standard work for our clients nationwide. His experience in the industry is vast driving all kinds of vehicles delivering all types of loads.

John has a passion for trucks and the logistics industry and is a regular visitor at key events.
